Job summary

Bioscope.AI in Carmel, IN is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the cloud infrastructure and platform pipelines. You’ll manage access, billing, and production reliability, collaborating with the infra lead to ship features and maintain security.

The role emphasizes careful change management, strong engineering fundamentals, and the use of AI tooling to improve development workflows, with a hybrid work arrangement in the Indianapolis area.

Qualifications

• Own what you build: design, ship, run, and continuously improve with accountability.
• Experience running production infra in AWS with IaC tooling (OpenTofu/Terraform).
• Ability to change production systems without breaking them.
• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, and distributed debugging.
• Comfort with backend and frontend work beyond infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools or willingness to learn.
• Clear communication during incidents and tradeoff explanations.

Responsibilities

• Own the Infrastructure: Build and maintain our cloud infrastructure as code, mostly in AWS, with cost, security, and reliability in mind.
• Run the Core Platform: Maintain practice accounts, user access, and billing; debug and extend as product grows.
• Keep the Team Shipping: Maintain CI/CD pipelines and improve tooling to speed deployments.
• Improve Our AI Tooling: Build and enhance tooling around AI coding agents.
• Protect Patient Data: Design access controls, secrets handling, and HIPAA-conscious logging.
• Own Problems End to End: Triage, fix, test, and ship bugs; cover for infra lead when needed.
• Pitch In on Product: Help ship platform-related product features when needed.
