Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to lead platform engineering, build automation, and cloud modernization in mission-critical engineering environments. You will maintain internal tools, build systems, and automation workflows to improve developer productivity and reliable software delivery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containerization, and AWS, and will mentor junior engineers while collaborating

Qualifications

• This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance; US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3+ years of experience with programming in C, C++ or C#.
• Experience with scripting in sh/csh, Bash, Python, and PERL.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS Services (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.
• Experience with build and test tools such as BoostBuild, BoostTest, CMake, and Make.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering efforts in support of mission-critical software development and delivery environments.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and refactor legacy tools, build scripts, and automation utilities.
• Design and develop custom software tools and automation solutions to support engineering workflows.
• Support and improve secure, cloud-based infrastructure environments used by the program.
• Architect, provision, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Modernize legacy build and release processes into secure, repeatable CI/CD workflows.
• Containerize legacy applications, build tools, and dependencies to improve reproducibility.
• Collaborate with developers to improve local development environments and remove build bottlenecks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers as needed.
