Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a platform engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable server infrastructure. The role emphasizes automation, container orchestration, and collaboration with developers and operations teams.

Ideal candidates have multi-year experience with Linux, Windows Server, and container tech, plus strong scripting and DevOps tooling. This onsite role offers 24/7 on-call exposure and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat preferred).
• 2+ years of experience with Windows Server operating systems.
• 2+ years of experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, etc).
• Experience deploying and supporting both physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Solid experience coding with Python, Ruby and/or GoLang scripting and automation.
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, SVN or others.
• Demonstrable knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design.
• Knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability.
• Top-tier analytics and problem solving.
• Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment.
• Project management, organization, and time management.
• Customer-focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and business resources.
• Fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, planning and implementation of server solutions
• Tune and design systems infrastructure for maximum available performance and reliability
• Automate manual tasks using scripting and application development
• Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs arise
• Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment
• Evaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patches
• Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutionsProvide support to, and coordinate with, developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users
• Automate common tasks in continuing effort to improve efficiency and consistency
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support
