Job summary

Acceler8 Talent is partnering with a UK-founded Defence AI company expanding its US engineering team. You will own production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, implement IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu/Pulumi, and deploy AI platforms into GovCloud and other high-security environments.

As a Senior/Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll stay hands-on while guiding the growing US engineering team, solving complex security and reliability challenges along the way. Remote-friendly, Virginia-based preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying Kubernetes in secure government contexts.
• Proficient with IaC tooling (Terraform, Pulumi, OpenTofu).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment patterns using Terraform/OpenTofu/Pulumi.
• Deploy AI platforms into US Government, GovCloud, and high-security environments.
• Solve complex security, reliability and operational challenges across deployments.
• Translate platform into US Government infrastructure and accreditation requirements.
• Remain hands-on while becoming a senior technical reference as the team grows.

Our client — a UK-founded Defence AI company expanding its US engineering capability — is hiring a Senior / Staff Platform Engineer (Virginia / Remote).

They’re building sovereign AI infrastructure used across Defence, Security and national-security environments, combining modern AI with secure cloud, classified deployments, data assurance and real-world operational constraints.

The role:

• Own and improve production Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure
• Build infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment patterns using Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi or similar
• Deploy AI platforms into US Government, GovCloud and high-security environments
• Solve complex security, reliability and operational challenges across customer deployments
• Translate an established platform into US Government infrastructure and accreditation requirements
• Remain deeply hands-on while becoming a senior technical reference point as the US engineering team grows
