Job summary

DCI Solutions in Chantilly, Virginia is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure for AI workloads. You will work with Kubernetes clusters (design, secure, upgrade), Docker, and cloud-native IaC tooling (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation), plus CI/CD with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.

Strong scripting (Python/Go/Bash), Linux fundamentals, and security practices are required; travel up to 20% for on-site work and you may need DoD TS/SCI with CIP

Platform Engineer

Location: Chantilly, Virginia Job Description:

• Serve as a Platform Engineer
• Design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure. Support data integration efforts
• Build, maintain, and optimize underlying infrastructure to support Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads. Qualifications:
• Cluster Management: Extensive experience with Kubernetes clusters to include:
• Designing, deploying, securing, maintaining
• Upgrading highly available and scalable (e.g., EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or self-managed)
• Including the control plane components, worker nodes, and their interactions
• Containerization & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker and containerization best practices
• Networking: Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts
• Security: Expertise in securing Kubernetes environments and network security
• Performance & Optimization: Optimize resources and implement best practices for cluster tuning
• CI/CD Tooling: Hands-on experience with popular CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Experience with Helm charts and customize for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
• Automation Scripting: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Go, Bash, or similar
• Linux/Unix: Background in Linux, including networking, file systems, and process management
• Relevant certifications such as:
• CKA, CKAD, CKS, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes operators, custom resource definitions (CRDs)
• Building internal developer platforms (IDPs)
• Travel up to 20% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance
• Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements Active DoD TS/SCI with a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) Clearance
