Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of platform or systems engineering experience.
• Experience supporting batch-oriented, compute-intensive production systems.
• Strong troubleshooting across application, system, and data layers.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix and scripting (Python or Shell).
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Comfortable operating in a highly regulated environment.

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Platform Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This is an exciting opportunity to support and modernize a mission-critical market risk platform used for regulatory reporting, stress testing, and daily risk calculations. The role offers deep technical ownership of a complex system while partnering closely with Risk, Quant, Data, and Infrastructure teams. You'll be supported while ramping up but empowered to grow into a trusted subject matter expert over time.

In this role, you will learn, support, and maintain the market risk platform, ensuring its stability, reliability, and scalability. You will provide production support, perform platform maintenance, and lead improvements to operational resilience. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys complex systems, problem-solving, and building strong domain expertise in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the platform in production, including monitoring batch processing, diagnosing failures, and supporting month-end and regulatory runs
• Maintain and configure platform components, including upgrades, patching, tuning, and environment changes
• Act as a technical responder for incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative solutions
• Collaborate with Risk, Quant, Data, and Infrastructure teams while documenting workflows, runbooks, and operational knowledge

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, systems engineering, or production support roles
• Experience supporting batch-oriented, compute-intensive systems in a production environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application, system, and data layers
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages such as Python or Shell
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• Comfortable operating in a highly controlled or regulated environment
