Job summary

Apple is seeking a Platform & Data Engineer to own the systems thousands of internal engineers rely on daily. You will operate at the intersection of Kubernetes platform engineering and large-scale data engineering, owning both compute platform and the data layer.

You will design internal-tools APIs, improve observability, and build self-service query surfaces. You will work with MCP wrappers, query builders, and ensure scalable, reliable operations across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of software engineering with production systems in Kubernetes, data systems, or internal platforms.
• Hands-on Kubernetes at scale with debugging and performance improvements.
• Experience with MongoDB or similar document databases and aggregation pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python with production code ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kubernetes platform footprint and scale, including observability and error tracking.
• Design and ship internal-tools APIs with multi-tenancy, auth, and capacity planning.
• Build self-service data tooling and query surfaces for client teams.
• Own ETL pipelines feeding MongoDB and optimize queries and indexing.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure adoption and reliable operation.
