Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer to design, validate, and operate large-scale Linux production environments.

You will build automation pipelines, manage multi-datacenter deployments, and collaborate across teams to optimize performance and reliability of services used by Apple applications. You should have deep Linux expertise (RHEL/CentOS), strong programming skills (C/C++/Go, Python), and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, Ansible, and Puppet.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Senior Linux system engineer; experience in SRE or software engineering preferred.
• Experience with Puppet or Ansible for automation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and solve Linux production systems at scale.
• Build, automate and support critical infrastructure across teams.
• Run automation pipelines for provisioning, orchestration and monitoring on Linux baremetal and VMs.
• Collaborate across teams to run workloads and analyze/debug data.
• Evolve Analytics Platform based on requirements.
• Write code, tests, documentation, and participate in code reviews.
