Job summary

Parallel Bio is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead the science at our San Francisco site. You will manage a team of scientists, set experimental strategy, and make key scientific decisions while remaining hands-on at the bench.

Your work will deepen understanding of organoid models across donors and conditions, build robust reference data, and drive assay development, technology transfer, and platform readiness for routine external execution.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biology, or related discipline with 10–15+ years in complex biological assays.
• Proven experience leading bench scientists and driving experimental strategy.
• Experience building organoid-based assays and platform transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead scientific team at San Francisco site, hiring, managing, and developing scientists.
• Set scientific direction and experimental strategy for the platform, reconciling competing interpretations.
• Own assay development, maturation, and technology transfer to routine platform execution.
• Serve as scientific lead for external partner programs and ensure rigorous data interpretation.
• Remain hands-on at the bench on the hardest problems.
