Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and own the APIs powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics. You’ll work across multiple clients and platforms in a distributed, office-less environment, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead of product direction, and you will help automate and simplify systems so they require less human intervention over time.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js and scalable services.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform; familiarity with AWS/Azure.
• Ability to own and improve services end-to-end with a focus on reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
• Improve existing services for performance and cost efficiency.
• Establish correct changes with pre-ship checks and post-deploy safeguards.
• Automate repetitive tasks and propagate learnings across the team.
• Create reusable work patterns that the team can adopt widely.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations atop our platform.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to stay ahead of architecture.
