Job summary

Riverside Insights seeks a senior technical owner to architect and build a new enterprise-grade platform for K-12 assessment delivery and data management. You will own the architecture, construct the system, and code hands-on alongside engineers, shaping the 0-to-1 journey from Fall 2027 pilot to 2028 launch.

Qualifications

• Must have led a 0-to-1, B2B platform build as senior technical owner.
• Experience architecting and scaling production systems on AWS.
• Experience operating in a regulated data environment (FERPA, COPPA, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar).
• Full-stack fluency across front-end, back-end, architecture, DevOps, and testing.
• Mature in making build-vs-buy-vs-partner calls with cost and risk awareness.
• Bachelor-level academic requirements are not specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 0-to-1 platform build and own architecture, construction, and testing through pilot and launch.
• Architect for complex, multi-component platform for production volume and institutional buyers.
• Assemble and lead a team within 60 days using existing staff and new hires within a 6-10 engineer budget.
• Own the first migration wave ensuring a superior day-one experience for customers.
• Remain hands-on, coding alongside the team rather than reviewing diagrams from afar.
• Make build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions on core dependencies and AI integration.
• Set AI-native engineering standards and scalable ways of working for Riverside Insights.
• Translate Product roadmap into a technical plan and sequence architecture work and infra changes.
• Provide regular demos and transparent updates to leadership on progress and risks.
