American Trim is seeking a Plater Deck Operator/Rack Repair capable individual to monitor plating processes, train staff, and coordinate maintenance tasks. The role emphasizes SPC use, chemistry awareness, and safe, accurate procedural execution.
The position requires hands-on operation of plating equipment, shift flexibility, and a focus on reducing downtime and scrap while maintaining quality. Training will cover all shifts and safety protocols within a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to accurately distinguish and interpret color changes associated with required water testing.
This position requires the use of respiratory protection. Employees required to wear respiratory protection must successfully complete all applicable medical evaluation, fit-testing, and respiratory protection requirements.
When a tight-fitting respirator is required, facial hair must not interfere with the respirator's sealing surface or valve function.
Statistical Process Control, Linear Measuring and Problem Solving Training. On-the-job training.
Plater Line, Filters, Rectifiers, Plater Arm, Electric Pumps, Electric Motors, Dryer, Control Panel, Boiler, High Lift, Racks, Grinders, Pump Cart, Evaporators, Nickel Recovery Unit, Washer and DI Units.
TDS, Ph and DI Meters, Thermometers, Digital Readout on Tanks, Air Wrenches, Mechanical Hand Tools, Hoist, Infrared Heat Gun, Barrel Pumps (Electric & Hand), etc.
Steel, nickel, chrome, acids, caustics, soaps, grease, oils, paint, etc.
Verbal and written instructions.
Ability to complete Statistical Process Control Charts (SPC). Basic math is essential, chemistry helpful. Should possess good interpersonal skills and Problem Solving ability. Must be physically able to perform Plater Deck Operator & Rack Repair duties. Minimum of 2-3 years work as Plater Deck Operator (or similar experience) required.
