Job summary

AMETEK in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Plater in the Plating Department. This full‑time position involves pre and post cleaning of parts, preparation and plating, and safe handling of chemicals in a production environment.

You will work with current densities, rack and barrel plating, and nickel baths (including electroless, copper, alkaline tin, acid tin, tin lead and gold), with overtime as needed. Benefits include 401(k), health, dental, vision, life insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use current densities, surface area and time to ensure correct plating thickness.
  • Knowledge of rack and barrel plating processes and setup.
  • Understanding of various plating baths including nickel, copper, tin and gold.
  • Familiarity with rectifiers, pumps, heaters and controllers in a plating line.

Plater – Plating Department

Full-time position in the Plating Department under the supervision of the Plating Manager/Engineer.

Job Summary

Pre and post cleaning of parts, preparation and plating of various types of parts, and safe handling of chemicals.

Major Responsibilities
  • Pre and post cleaning preparation of parts.
  • Assure proper use of current densities.
  • Rack and barrel plating.
  • Plating baths of nickel including electroless, copper, alkaline tin, acid tin, tin lead and gold.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • Ability to use current densities, surface area and correct time to ensure correct plating thicknesses on parts.
  • Knowledge of rack and barrel plating.
  • Knowledge of plating baths such as nickel including electroless, copper, alkaline tin, acid tin, tin lead and gold.
  • Working knowledge of rectifiers (power supply), pumps, heaters and controllers.
  • Working knowledge and basic understanding of the waste treatment system.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with constant changes in temperature, wetness, high noise, fumes, irritants, gases and chemicals.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift objects weighing 10 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs; repeated standing, walking and bending required.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with little supervision.
  • Availability to work overtime if necessary.
  • US export authorization required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate and attend training sessions as required to meet standards of job-related duties.
  • General housekeeping as required.
  • Be responsive with department personnel/staff to promote a team‑player environment.

Job Details

Job Type: Full‑time

Pay: $20.60 – $22.66 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule: 10‑hour shift, 8‑hour shift; Monday to Friday with weekends as needed.
