Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a shop floor technician in West Springfield, MA to inspect parts before, during, and after processing and to operate all required machinery safely. The role includes maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following Valence ROUTER procedures with accuracy.

Candidates should be able to read process travelers, assist trained operators, and lift up to 50 lbs. Fork truck training is available for designated employees.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to read process travelers and complete operations.
• Able to perform simple cleaning operations.
• Able to assist as a helper to trained operators.
• Able to follow verbal and written directions.
• Able to use basic hand tools (wrenches, clamps).
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Work under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts before, during, and after processing.
• Operate machinery and instruments safely and perform routine maintenance; forklift training for designated staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Navigate and understand quality system documents in Valence computer system.
• Follow Valence ROUTER steps and fill out routers correctly; report input mistakes to supervisor.
• Process parts competently with minimal supervision.
• Avoid damage to parts and protect parts from damage.
