Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking a Production Associate in Fletcher, NC to operate the plate lift, separate pressed laminate, and stack materials. You will work in the press department under the supervision of Press Operators/Foreman.

The role requires 1 year of manufacturing experience, high school diploma or GED, and ability to perform heavy physical tasks. A rotating shift is in place with a competitive hourly wage and benefits.

Qualifications

• Able to perform heavy physical work and long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and inspect component material, plates, and laminate.
• Lay up component material and stack laminate per production process.
• Initiate corrective action if operations are not standard.
• Log production information (material, type, size, run, settings, rejects).
• Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety checks.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and follow quality standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

Pay: $23.57/hr - plus shift premium (Rotating Shifts)

JOB SUMMARY: Working in the Press department, this associate operates the plate lift, separates pressed laminate and stacks material. Works under the direction of Press Operators/Foreman.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

1. Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate.
2. As part of a two person team, lays up the component material and lays off completed laminate according to the production process.
3. Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard.
4. Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, rejects, etc.
5. Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks and follows all safety policies and procedures.
6. Participates in the Wilsonart Continuous Improvement system and complies with all quality standards.
7. Perform other position duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers, sufficient to enter data into system.
• Ability to identify patterns and finishes and follow quality specs.
• Ability to operate a lift truck.
• Skill in hand and eye coordination.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Graduate/GED or combination of equivalent education and work history.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work - tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials or 50 to 100 pounds. Plus walking and standing during a minimum of a 10-hour shift.
