Job summary

Sarpak is seeking a plate mounter in Houston to mount printing plates on sleeves using automatic mounting equipment. The role requires careful attention to job specifications, post-mount QC, and clean-up procedures including solvent use.

The position involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 pounds, and working on a climate-controlled manufacturing floor with PPE. Experience with basic math and computer familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction and measurement.
• Familiarity with using a computer.

Responsibilities

• Check job order for accuracy and request corrections as needed.
• Mount printing plates accurately on sleeves using automatic mounting machine.
• Ensure plate, sleeve and thickness match job order specifications.
• Apply sticky back to sleeve using tape applicator without trapping air.
• Perform QC before and after mounting, clean back of plate with 99.9% isopropanol where required.

A \"plate mounter\" is primarily responsible for accurately mounting printing plates by using automatic mounting machine on to sleeves used on a printing press, ensuring the plates are precisely mounted on the sleeve according to job description and specifications.DESCRIPTIONJob Preparation, check job order for accuracy and request corrections as needed.Plate, check mounting plate correct item, plate condition and thickness as it is specifying on the job order.Sleeve, check mounting sleeve as it is specifying on the job order sleeve repeat, sleeve made plate thickness, sleeve made press and the condition of the sleeve.Sticky back, apply on the sleeve based on the job specification by using tape applicator machine without any air trapped between sleeve and sticky back.MOUNT, specified item plate, check all QC list pre mount, clean the back of plate with 99.9% isopropanol alcohol, trim if it is necessary and mount the plate accurately by using automatic mounting machine and check all QC post mounted.COMPETENCIESWell detailed on all process.EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction.Ability to add, Subtract, multiply and divided in unit of measure, whole number, common fraction and decimals.Familiar using ComputerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand for long periods, lift up to 60 pounds.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed on climates Controlled manufacturing floor.Employee occasionally work near alcohol and Solvent smells.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Climb ladder
