Job summary

Interflex Merrill in Merrill, WI is seeking an Entry-level Plate Mounting Operator to mount printing plates on cylinders following customer specs and company procedures, enabling press operators to achieve precise print registration with efficiency.

The role requires high school education, meticulous attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and basic math skills. Prior flexographic printing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Translate layout specifications into mounting plate requirements.
• Set up job using plate mounter and prepare plates for mounting.
• Apply plates using correct mounting tape and ensure accurate placement.
• Coordinate with shift supervisor to plan mounting order and complete documentation.
• Verify mounting accuracy with QC checks and ensure documentation is complete.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: Interflex Merrill - Merrill, WI, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $18.05 - $22.53Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Graveyard, Job Category: Manufacturing, The purpose of this position is to mount printing plates on cylinders / sleeves following customer specifications and company procedure in an accurate fashion so that press operators can achieve desired print registration and impression with ease and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Translate written and computer generated layout specifications into the requirements for mounting plates.
• Set up job using plate mounter.
• Prepare plates to be mounted. (Clean and or minor repair.)
• Apply plates using correct mounting tape.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Planning- Coordinate with shift supervisor to plan mounting order.
• Documentation- Complete required forms and obtain required signatures.
• QC- With the help of shift supervisor, make sure job is mounted correctly. ( Job Check-off )

Qualifications

• Ability to perform with meticulous attention to detail.
• Must be able to read tape measure
• Can work with very small tolerances. (In the thousandths of an inch range.)
• Must have good math skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OTHER SKILLS

• Must be a high school graduate.
• Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to give attention to detail and follow-up in all areas.
• Prior experience in flexographic printing a plus.
