Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a 1st shift plate maker to operate plate making equipment and prepare lithographic or flexographic plates from digital files. You will review plates for defects, manage materials, and perform routine maintenance.

The role involves using desktop publishing software to format print jobs, ensuring correct page layout, bleed, crop marks, and color bars. Training and hands-on collaboration with CSR and production are expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of print or graphic design experience.
• Must work with graphic design/layout software on Mac/PC.
• Experience with digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps).
• Advanced color management skills preferred.
• Ability to output digital files to various output devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate plate making equipment to produce lithographic and/or flexographic plates from digital files.
• Review plates for defects or errors.
• Maintain inventory of plate making materials and perform routine maintenance.
• Prepare color proofs for customer review and communicate issues to CSR and production.
• Train others in new processes and lean methodologies.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and maintain plate making equipment.
