RR Donnelley is seeking a plate making operator to accurately produce lithographic and flexographic plates from digital files. You will impose images, check for defects, and prepare plates for press, with routine maintenance and material replenishment as needed.

The role requires 1+ years in print or graphic design, familiarity with Mac/PC design tools, and strong color management skills. On-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 1+ years of print or graphic design experience.
• Ability to work with Mac and PC design/layout software.
• Understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across systems.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and imposition software preferred.
• Advanced color management skills and basic repairs on platemaking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate plate making equipment to produce lithographic/flexographic plates from digital files.
• Impose images, protect quality, and prepare plates for press.
• Review plates for defects and perform routine maintenance.
• Prepare color proofs and conduct quality checks on finished plates.
• Troubleshoot equipment and manage plate materials inventory.
• Review client files for completeness and adjust layouts as needed.
