Job summary

Eaton in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Plate Line Operator - 1st Shift to join our manufacturing team. The core hours are 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, with an hourly rate of $20.55.

You will perform painting and plating related tasks across conveyors and related equipment, ensuring adherence to MWI procedures and quality standards. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, applying prime and finish coats, inspecting surfaces, operating plating systems, maintaining solutions and equipment, and following

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Within 50-mile radius of Syracuse NY.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, rack, hang, spray paint, wash into barrels and related tasks to and from conveyors and painting areas following procedures.
• Apply prime, finish, and wrinkle coats while avoiding runs or defects.
• Clean and prepare metal surfaces; electroplate or wash to obtain uniform finish as directed.
• Apply coatings such as nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium as directed.
• Inspect raw castings and painted surfaces for quality and moisture issues.
• Operate and maintain conveyorized dip painting and plating systems; monitor related controls and solutions.
• Maintain solution concentrations, viscosity, temperature, and pH; adjust current as prescribed.
• Add chemicals and materials to maintain specified concentrations; report issues to supervisor.
• Operate lift trucks or walkie stackers to move materials around the department.
• Follow environmental procedures and safety rules; perform TPM activities and routine maintenance.
• Document logs and checklists; assist with minor maintenance and clean-up.
