Job summary

Martech Medical Products, Inc. in Harleysville, PA, is seeking an Extrusion Operator for the 2nd shift (4:00pm–2:00am, Mon–Thu).

The role involves setting up and running the extruder line, managing downstream equipment, and learning through full training before transitioning to the second shift. You will read drawings, prepare tooling and raw materials, monitor dimensions with basic measuring tools, and document production data per ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
• Experience in medical grade tubing extrusion preferred.
• Read and interpret product drawings for specs and tooling.
• Set up extruder and prepare raw materials.
• Maintain extrusion equipment and perform quality checks.

• Reads and understands product drawings to determine product specifications and tooling needed for extruded tubing.
• Sets up extruder and relevant tooling. Prepares all raw compounds needed to start any extrusion run/batch.
• Operates and maintains all extrusion tooling, dies, mandrels, and related equipment.
• Reviews dimensions and measurements on drawings or routers before starting/setting up.
• Uses basic measuring equipment to confirm specifications (micrometers, calipers, rulers).
• Set-up/tear down and clean all extrusion equipment after daily run.
• Completes all documentation for work orders/routers per ISO procedures.

Extrusion Operator - 2nd shift

Hours - 4:00pm - 2:00am Monday - Thursday

What you will be responsible for: The Extrusion Operator is responsible for extruding life‑saving medical tubing, including set‑up and tear down of the entire extruder line, all applicable downstream equipment including but not limited to vacuum tanks, water tanks, pullers, cutters, conveyors, driers, coilers, and measuring equipment. Full training is available for this position. Training for this position will take place during first shift and then you will transition to second shift.

How you will contribute:

• Produces Medical grade extrusions of various profiles simple to complex.
• Reads and understands product drawings to determine product specifications and tooling needed for extruded tubing.
• Sets up extruder and relevant tooling. Prepares all raw compounds needed to start any extrusion run/batch.
• Operates and maintains all extrusion tooling, dies, mandrels, associated equipment.
• Reviews dimensions and measurements on drawings or routers before starting/setting up for the extrusion process.
• Uses basic measuring equipment to confirm product specifications, including but not limited to-micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers, and rulers.
• Set-up/tear down and clean all extrusion equipment after daily run.
• Complete all documentation for work orders/routers as required per ISO procedures.
• Enters basic run information into computer system.
• Check all tooling/machines for damage or wear.

Qualifications –

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs., i.e., raw material several times daily.
• Extrusion experience, medical grade tubing preferably.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve difficult technical issues.
• Excellent interpersonal, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work well and effectively with others.
• Strong attention to detail and note‑taking abilities.
• Punctuality.

Education / Experience:

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Prefer 2+ years minimum plastics extrusion experience.
