Maia Plastic Surgery in Tysons Corner, VA, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA‑C) to join a new perioperative team. The role blends OR first‑assist duties with pre‑/post‑operative care and clinic support in a modern, patient‑centered ASC.

Requires Virginia PA license, NCCPA certification, BLS/ACLS, and 1–3+ years surgical PA experience. Competitive salary with bonus and comprehensive benefits. Monday–Friday schedule with clinic and OR days.

Qualifications

• NCCPA‑certified PA‑C with Virginia license.
• BLS and ACLS required before start.
• 1–3+ years of surgical PA experience preferred (plastics/ENT/derm/surgery helpful).
• OR first‑assist proficiency and perioperative decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Provide first‑assist in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures under attending supervision.
• Perform sterile prep, draping, retraction, hemostasis, suturing/closure, and dressing.
• Manage intraoperative documentation and instrument counts; support turnover efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive pre‑op H&Ps, risk stratification, medication reconciliation, and informed‑consent education.
• Coordinate labs, imaging, clearances, and pre‑op orders; optimize patients per ERAS protocols.
• Monitor post‑op recovery, pain control, PONV, and discharge readiness per ASC policies.
• Deliver consults and follow‑ups; educate patients on procedures, recovery, and expectations.
• Write notes, orders, and e‑prescriptions in the EMR; maintain compliant documentation.
