Job summary

The Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Division of Plastic Surgery. This advanced practice provider will serve as a physician extender, collaborating with faculty, residents, and staff to deliver comprehensive care across outpatient, inpatient, ED, and surgical settings.

The focus includes ambulatory clinic work, OR first assist, ED consults, inpatient procedures, and rounds, with six or more half-day clinics weekly.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a PA.
• May possess a NCCPA specialty certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Evaluate and document new patient consultations, including ED and inpatient consults.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care and discharge planning.
• Participate in surgical procedures as a first assist under supervision.
