Beth Aviva Preminger MD PLLC in New York, NY seeks a skilled Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant to join a leading practice. You will assist during consultations and in-office procedures, prepare sterile environments, and manage patient records with a patient-first approach.

The role requires familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, knowledge of sterile technique and post-operative care, and strong communication. CPT/Upskilling opportunities exist in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA preferred.
• Prior experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or a surgical specialty strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical office workflows.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, wound care, and post-operative protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• BLS/CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during plastic and reconstructive surgery consultations and in-office procedures.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, surgical trays, and sterile fields.
• Take and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and pre/post-operative instructions.
• Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and surgical prep communications.
• Administer injections, wound care, and post-operative dressing changes as directed.
• Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation in EMR systems.
• Provide compassionate patient education regarding procedures, recovery, and aftercare.
