Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide specialty medical care within the outpatient and surgical settings in Wauwatosa, WI and Menomonee Falls, WI.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the APP will contribute to patient care, safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching, with duties including clinic coverage, operating room support, documentation, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
• BLS Certified (American Heart Association Basic Life Support)

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
• Wisconsin APRN Licensure
• APRN Certification
• Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization or historical certification equivalent
• Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP)
• Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP)
• Family NP (FNP)
• Physician Assistant
• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
• Certification by NCCPA

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring Plastic Surgery intervention in outpatient environment
• Supports surgeons with procedures in the operating room
• Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders
• Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information
• Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care
