Job summary

Vital Plastics LLC in Baldwin, WI is seeking a Project Engineer for 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) to coordinate engineering activities for new and existing customer projects, from quotation through tooling development, validation, and production transfer.

You will plan, manage, and communicate across Sales, Engineering, and Operations to meet timelines, budgets, and quality targets, reviewing CAD models and supporting documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years in plastic injection molding or tooling.
• Thorough understanding of injection molds and molding processes.
• Knowledge of local tool shops and their capabilities.
• Hands-on SolidWorks experience or equivalent CAD system.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Advanced SolidWorks training.
• Knowledge or experience with 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, specs, and requirements to define project scope.
• Evaluate designs, tooling, materials, and manufacturing needs.
• Develop technical quotations and schedule timelines.
• Lead projects through design, tooling, validation, and transfer to production.
• Coordinate kickoff, production readiness, and status updates with customers.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate changes to stakeholders.
