TH Plastics, Inc. in Mendon, Michigan is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead the technical team and drive projects from concept to delivery.

The role combines project management with engineering oversight to ensure safety, on-time completion, and adherence to budget. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5 years in automotive project engineering/management, and strong troubleshooting skills with injection molding tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5 years of experience in Project Engineering/Management in automotive manufacturing.
• Extensive troubleshooting skills and knowledge of tooling for injection molding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Regular on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve on-time delivery and follow up with suppliers.
• Analyze customer drawings to identify potential failures and preventative actions.
• Assist Process Engineer / Quality Manager in addressing defects during pre-launch.
• Maintain strong customer communication throughout projects.
• Prepare quotations using supplier information and cost standards.
• Provide weekly updates to the project manager.
• Assist in BOM creation and part/process specifications.
• Collaborate to balance team and individual responsibilities and build a positive team environment.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

PROJECT ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

TH Plastics, Inc., is a custom injection molder serving the appliance and automotive industries, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual for the following position in our Mendon, Michigan Division.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Project Engineers combine project management skills with engineering knowledge to lead the technical team in the completion of a project. Scheduling, project controls, problem solving, vendor management, coordinating and managing the project team are just a few of the skills that may be required in this role. They also work closely with management to ensure projects are technically sound from an engineering perspective, completed safely, and delivered on time and on budget.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve and “on time” result including follow-up with internal/external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items


• Determines possibility of failure in our manufacturing process from customer drawing. Analyze process to learn likelihood of detection and resulting effect on customer product. Suggest preventative steps for correction


• Assist Process Engineer / Quality Manager in addressing defects, if any, found during the pre-launch stage


• Strong customer communication skills


• Prepare quotations utilizing supplier information, cost standards, technical information from quality, manufacturing engineering and tool engineering


• Provide weekly updates to project manager


• Assist in BOM creation, detailed instructions for manufacturing process of new part and specification for packaging


• Teamwork: Will develop cooperation and collaborate work efforts toward solutions by balancing team and individual responsibilities. Will contribute to building a positive team environment by giving and welcoming feedback


• All other related duties as assigned
