Job summary

Plastipak is seeking a Production Technician in Ottumwa, IA to operate state-of-the-art extrusion and blow-molding equipment in a clean, climate-controlled plant. You will monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot machinery to ensure top-quality plastic containers meet specifications.

You will participate in quality checks, support continuous improvement, and grow your skills through formal and on-the-job training, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician in high-volume production.
• Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred.
• Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot & solve problems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 70 lbs. with a team lift.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of extrusion & blow-m molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor equipment and adjust settings to produce high-quality containers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Perform quality checks for specifications such as bottle weights & dimensions.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality & scrap reduction.
• Grow skills through formal and on-the-job training and pursue career advancement.
