Job summary

Pelican Plasma in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our plasma donation center. You will perform venipunctures, monitor automated plasmapheresis, and ensure donor safety and post-donation care in compliance with SOPs and cGMP guidelines.

You will guide donors through the donation process, document accurately in the donor management system, and collaborate with a healthcare team dedicated to high-quality donor experiences and plasma-derived therapies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Completion of in-house training with proficiency checks within 90 days.
• CPR certification or completion within 6 months.
• Dependable, punctual with effective communication.
• Professional demeanor with donors and staff.
• Ability to perform phlebotomies with large gauge needle.
• Basic computer knowledge; learn donor management system with training.
• Accurate documentation in donor records.

Responsibilities

• Meets and exceeds donor expectations through appropriate interactions.
• Performs venipunctures and operates plasmapheresis equipment.
• Provides post-donation care and donor information.
• Documents accurately in the donor record management system.
• Monitors donors for adverse reactions; may perform medical screening.
• Assists in recruitment, scheduling and education of donors.
• Maintains SOP, cGMP and regulatory compliance; ensures safety.
• Participates in trainings, meetings and quality assurance activities.
