Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer selected immunizations, and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff. You will promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews to determine eligibility.

Under the Center Medical Director’s guidance you will review screening results, counsel donors on reactive tests, maintain donor data in the electronic system, and follow SOPs, safety and compliance

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school.
• Foreign medical degree plus active physician license or EMT certification in the state.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess heart and lung sounds and signs of drug use.
• Ability to educate donors, staff and community regarding plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director or Center Physician.
• Review donor screening results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Explain informed consent and donor rights regarding procedures and risks.
