Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking qualified medical personnel to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, interpreting test results, and coordinating with the Center Medical Director on donor care.

The position requires graduation from a paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, or medical school program, with licensure or certification as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Foreign medical graduates must be licensed as a physician or hold state EMT certification if applicable.
• USA NY: RN/MD/DO licensure or reciprocal state certification required.
• Minimum 1 year relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma/whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff and administer treatments per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical histories for donation suitability.
• Coordinate with Center Medical Director to respond to donor medical questions.
• Review test results to determine ongoing donor suitability and assess symptoms.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Follow SOPs for routine care and escalate critical medical situations to physicians.
