Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Melt Operator for the PAM site in Morgantown, PA. This is a 2nd shift (4pm - 12am) role requiring operation and maintenance of furnaces and related equipment in an on-site setting.

Expect to handle loading, pumping down, melting, casting, data logging, and routine maintenance under safety guidelines. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred trade training and at least 3 years in a related environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or additional training preferred.
• 3 years working experience in a relevant environment preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and possess basic math skills.
• Must be able to work any schedule, holidays and weekends.
• Forklift, crane-operating experience highly preferred.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain furnaces.
• Interpret and respond to equipment needs.
• Follow standard manufacturing and operating procedures.
• Set up and operate furnace for melting including loading material and pumping down.
• Operate data logging instrumentation and log maintenance data.
• Unload ingots and manage molds, hearths, and feeds.
• Maintain records and logs; wear safety equipment and follow housekeeping rules.
