Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a skilled Furnace Operator to operate and maintain furnaces, perform setup and troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards. The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to interpret gauges and monitors, and flexibility to work in hot, dirty environments.

Responsibilities include loading materials, pumping down furnace, melting and casting, logging data, and maintaining records. Prior experience with forklifts/cranes is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade training preferred.
• 3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to perform basic math.
• Able to work any schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Forklift and crane experience highly preferred.
• Must wear a respirator and work in hot/dirty environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain furnaces according to procedures.
• Interpret equipment needs and respond accordingly.
• Follow standard manufacturing and operating procedures.
• Perform pre-operative checks and pump-down cycles.
• Melting, casting, and unloading ingots.
• Operate data logging instrumentation and monitor gauges.
• Maintain records, logs, and maintenance lists.
• Use hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping practices.
