Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Healthcare Professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency medical care in a plasma donation center. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical history, and collaborating with the Center Medical Director.

The position requires licensure or certification as applicable, with at least 1 year of healthcare experience; plasma center experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director and staff on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations as required.
