Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, provide limited emergency medical care, and perform medical history reviews to ensure safe plasma donation. The role requires strong assessment skills, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with the Center Medical Director.

Candidates should have a relevant allied health degree, at least one year in healthcare, and ideally experience in plasma or blood collection environments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability
• Respond to medically related questions and advise staff on donor suitability with Center Medical Director
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required
