Qualifications

• Active state licensure from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training or medical school is required.
• Foreign medical school graduate may qualify if licensed as physician or certified EMT in the state.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma/whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical examination components such as heart/lung sounds and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and supervise approved immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per SOPs.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential interviews to obtain suitability information.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director/Physician and inform staff on medical issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic management system and maintain confidentiality.
