Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a donor center technician to determine donor eligibility, collect plasma, and process products while upholding compliance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP. You will help ensure donor safety and high-quality plasma products in a fast-paced center.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, equipment operation, and maintaining clean facilities, with duties spanning from venipuncture support to processing of plasma products and shipments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Three (3) months' experience in clerical or customer service position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain production standards and facility compliance.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service, donor confidentiality, and positive donor experience.
  • Monitor donor conditions and perform eligibility assessments, includingVitals, microhematocrit, total protein testing, and donor registration.
  • Set up, prepare, and operate automated plasmapheresis equipment; respond to alarms and troubleshoot alerts.
  • Perform plasma collection and processing, including sterile products and sample handling, freezer organization, and shipment preparation.
  • Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures, report malfunctions, and document variances.
  • Maintain cleanliness of donor center and work areas; ensure professional appearance and safe disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Maintain and perform quality control on donor center equipment per SOPs.
  • Maintain complete and accurate recordkeeping in compliance with company SOPs.
  • Provide oversight of product safety and quality by maintaining collection ratios and donor safety.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine quality control checks on equipment.
