Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review laboratory results, and coordinate with the Center Manager and Center Physician for medical issues.

You will also support vaccination programs, handle incident reporting, and follow EHS guidance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program equivalency with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties are performed: EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN with CPR and AED.
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy and complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and follow EHS guidance; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
