Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review test results, and communicate with physicians. This role supports center operations under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will work in a regulated plasma collection environment, assisting with EHS programs and maintaining high standards of patient safety and service for donors and staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold active license in the state of responsibility.
• Licensed/certified in the state with EMT-Paramedic credentials.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical interview, acceptance, physical exam, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange transport if needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents; consult EHS for occupational health matters.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist investigations.
