You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. You should be familiar with plasma collection regulations and follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, supporting environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at the center.

How you will contribute

1. You will determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exams, blood tests, and reviewing SPE.
2. You will evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, developing standing orders and arranging donor transport if needed.
3. You will refer issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding medical or technical concerns.
4. You will support vaccination programs for employees, such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
5. You will manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation is required, and refer to occupational health or EHS as needed.
6. You may serve as a Pandemic Coordinator, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats, as authorized.

What you bring to Takeda

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate nursing education with state licensing requirements.
• Current license or certification as an LPN or LVN in the state of employment.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for IV therapy.
• Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training for Medical Support Specialists.
• At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

We value equitable pay and transparency. The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $26.15 - $35.96. Actual wages depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, licenses, and location.
