Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist at our Newark, DE Plasma Center. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings, under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You should be familiar with plasma collection regulations and be capable of coordinating with Medical Affairs and EHS for safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed/certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned per regulatory requirements.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician for medical emergencies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further occupational health evaluation with EHS guidance.
