Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Belton, Missouri. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring regulatory compliance and program support, including vaccinations and EHS guidance. A clinical background with state licensure and CPR/AED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state licensure requirements for EMT/RN/LPN according to responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange transport if needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with EHS for investigations; act as Pandemic Coordinator if authorized.
