Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Utility Person to join our Belgrade Quarry in Maysville, NC. The role emphasizes safety, dependable performance, and cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation.

You will grease and lubricate equipment, maintain housekeeping, operate equipment, and assist with routine site tasks while supporting customer service and quality controls. This on-site role requires hands-on work and reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the building materials industry preferred.
• Safety-conscious and reliable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment under supervision.
• Perform daily pre/post-shift inspections and maintain maintenance log.
• Operate a skid steer, front end loader, and related tools to clean around equipment and maintain roadways.
• Operate a water truck to limit airborne dust.
• Participate in production, loading/shipping, and quality control activities.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe traffic flow on site.
• Operate plant-specific mobile equipment as needed (e.g., excavators, haul trucks).
• Operate an automated scale and software to generate customer tickets.
• Provide site-specific training to visitors and enforce site guidelines.
