Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 (HVAC) for a full-time night shift. The role involves operating, maintaining, and calibrating HVAC and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient utility services in a hospital setting.

Candidates should have a related education background and hands-on experience with energy conservation and plant maintenance. This position is designated to support NY HELPS and may include a non-competitive appointment with future competitive status

Qualifications

• Experience in operating and maintaining HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Ability to test, calibrate, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Understanding energy conservation projects and overhauls.

Responsabilités

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate HVAC and electrical equipment.
• Suggest major overhauls and energy conservation projects.
• Oversee subordinate staff and, if needed, contractors during emergencies or projects.
