Job summary

Vistra is seeking an entry-level Plant Operator to support basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and operate equipment within specifications and environmental regulations under the direction of experienced Plant Technicians.

The role focuses on safe, effective, and reliable operation and offers exposure to a broad range of plant systems. Training will cover instrument and control basics while emphasizing safety and asset integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years related experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and proficient communication required.
• Familiar with physics of electrical circuits and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Read meters and log data at specified intervals.
• Report malfunctions or abnormal readings to supervisor.
• Provide mechanical, electrical, and/or instrument/control support.
• Understand operational relationships of equipment to plant systems.
• Troubleshoot and assist in problem resolution.
• Adhere to safety, health and environmental procedures including LOTO, JSA, confined space, hot work, PPE.
• Assist with activities of clearances in the electronic clearance system.
• Use maintenance software and other computer-based systems.
• Learn the full plant cycle and how it functions.
