Job summary

West Valley Cleanup Alliance, the prime contractor for the DOE project near the West Valley Demonstration Project site south of Buffalo, NY, seeks a Plant Systems Operations Specialist to maintain plant systems operations and perform a range of technical tasks. The role involves working safely with radiological controls, operating equipment, and following procedures.

Education requires a high school diploma with relevant coursework; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires safe work practices and the ability to operate in a radiological environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete PSO operator qualification and other required qualifications.
• Ability to perform shift work and use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by following safe work practices.
• Adhere to company ethics, EEO, and DOE directives.
• Complete work following supervisor directions and established procedures.
• Operate tools and systems (fork trucks, hoists, power tools, lifts) per manufacturer instructions.
• Decontamination/contamination control tasks including waste packaging and equipment removal.
• Document actions by completing records, data sheets, and reports.
