Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Plant Systems Engineering Intern in Orrville, OH.

You will support manufacturing operations through IT, automation, and network infrastructure, including MES/SCADA and plant networking environments, partnering with technicians and engineers from concept through commissioning. In this in-person role you will gain exposure to enterprise IT standards, capital projects, and long-term plant modernization within a Fortune 500 manufacturing setting while developing

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing in a computing/engineering field and a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networking and OS concepts.
• Experience with Python, C++, SQL, VBA or C# is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist data collection with operators to learn manufacturing processes.
• Architect, administer and support network infrastructure (Terminal Servers, Thin Clients, Ethernet Switches).
• Design and support MES/SCADA software solutions and IT standards.
• Manage projects from scope through commissioning and verification.
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and resources.
• Explore long-term plant upgrade feasibility.
