Position Summary
The Plant Supervisor – Structural (3rd Shift 9:00 pm–5:30 am) supervises activities of shop employees, supports manufacturing, and safety objectives.

Responsibilities
- Lead the daily work of the team, scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Direct employees in meeting quality and on-time delivery requirements, address production challenges, and communicate issues to relevant managers.
- Follow dispatch due dates and send reports with updates at the end of each shift to managers.
- Partner with the production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand responsibilities and delegated tasks.
- Lead 6S improvements, guiding employees to reach 90‑point goals.
- Provide technical guidance to team members and consult with other resources when needed.
- Communicate with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs.
- Assist the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications.
- Monitor employee productivity, provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Give the team written and oral instructions.
- Standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, objectives, continuous improvement goals, and safety rules.
- Maintain timekeeping and attendance records using UKG.
- Issue corrective actions for employees not adhering to company policies.
- Ensure training plans are progressing to achieve higher performance and production levels.
- Evaluate employee performance.
- Responsibility for first‑line employee relations and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
- Drive sustainable process outputs for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Available to work on‑site daily in Hobart, Indiana.
- Available to work 3rd‑shift hours 9:00 pm–5:30 am (including two Saturdays per month).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high‑quality output.

- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and reporting.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.

Salary
Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00
