Daifuku is looking for an Inventory Supervisor for the 1st Shift in Hobart, Indiana. You will supervise employees, ensure safety, and meet delivery requirements, supported by a competitive benefits package from Day 1.

Position Summary:

Inventory Supervisor (1st Shift) supervises activities of Shop employees, supports manufacturing, and safety objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship
• Must be available to work on‑site daily in Hobart, Indiana
• Must be available to work 1st shift hours 5:00am-1:30pm (Some Saturdays will be required as well)
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and data analysis tools.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high‑quality output.
• Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and reporting.

Salary Range: $70,000.00-$90,000.00

Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient work flow
• Direct employees in meeting quality and on‑time delivery requirements, address production challenges, and communicate issues to relevant managers
• Follow the dispatch due dates and send reports with updates on the end of your shift to your manager and plant manager
• Partner with production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks
• Lead 6S improvements with your manager and direct employees to reach the goal of 90 points
• Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed
• Communicates with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs
• Assists the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
• Gives the team written and oral instructions
• Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
• Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety rules
• Maintain timekeeping and attendance records for your groups using UKG
• Issue corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to company policies (safety, attendance etc)
• Ensures that employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production.
• Evaluates employee performance.
• Responsible for first line employee relations and resolution of issues within their departments.
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Supervisory experience a plus
