Job summary

The Plant Supervisor at Vulcan Materials Company will oversee day-to-day operations of the aggregate plant, ensuring safe, compliant production and efficient use of resources. You will work with plant management to plan, monitor, and improve operations, while coaching hourly staff and ensuring adherence to MSHA/OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Residential requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, and willingness to participate in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 3-5 years experience in land striping & reclamation.
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Construction materials industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises hourly employees performing land stripping & reclamation functions and may perform hands-on repairs.
• Plans and prioritizes objectives; maintains scheduling within budget.
• Supports recruitment by screening and hiring hourly employees.
• Schedules department requirements to support daily, weekly and monthly activities for material processing operations.
• Provides coaching and disciplinary counseling to employees in area of responsibility.
• Ensures employees receive proper training and instructions for job duties.
• Schedules and assigns work based on production needs (manpower planning).
• Collaborates with SHE department and company officials to promote a safe work environment and compliance with state/federal rules.
• Works with plant management to ensure mine development & reclamation activities meet needs and expectations.
• Participates in cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Participates in short and long-range operations planning and department inspections.
• Monitors and maintains plant equipment and ensures proper maintenance and repairs.
